Will the Samsung GALAXY S IV incorporate the S Pen functionality that is a signature feature of the GALAXY Note series of devices?
With the GALAXY S III sharing several similar software features (1) (2) as the GALAXY Note II in its latest Premium Suite updates, is it possible that the former will inherit the S Pen functionality from its larger sibling in the near future? Well, it may soon be a reality.
According to Korean sources, the GALAXY S IV will be the first of its series to come with the S Pen, which is a stylus concept first started in the 5.3-inch GALAXY Note. The information is apparently confirmed by a quote from a Samsung official.
In addition, the same sources also asserted that Samsung will launch the GALAXY S IV in April 2013, a time frame which was earlier reported by an inside source of SamMobile. The GALAXY S IV is said to sport a slightly thicker chassis (9.2mm), which seems logical considering that it will house the S Pen. Specs provided are in line with what we've heard so far, which include:
- 5-inch 1080p display
- Samsung Exynos 5540 quad-core processor or ARM's big.LITTLE architecture (pairing of a Cortex A15 processor as the "big" CPU and a Cortex A7 processor as the "LITTLE" CPU)
- 13-megapixel rear camera
- Jelly Bean
